Ku-Band Low Profile LC Filter

NIC introduces a new advancement in LC filter design, extending performance into the Ku Band with a 16.5 GHz center frequency. This low-profile (<0.14″) surface-mount filter offers a compact alternative to thin-film solutions while enabling faster prototyping, greater tuning flexibility, and optimized electrical performance.

With insertion loss (<2.5 dB) and selectivity greater than 40 dB in a (0.44″ × 0.39″ × 0.14″) package, the filter is built using high-temperature solder to withstand standard 215 °C reflow.

Custom designs from 1 MHz to 18 GHz are available, underscoring NIC’s commitment to delivering reliable, high-performance RF and microwave solutions for defense and space applications.

Features:

  • Low Profile (0.14″)
  • Low Insertion Loss (2.5dB max)
  • Good Ultimate Rejection (40dB up to 27GHz)
  • Quick Prototyping (4-6 weeks)
  • Compact Package size
  • Ruggedized package for hi-rel environment

Applications:

  • Ground
  • Airborne
  • Ship mount
  • Receiver

Thin Film Filters

NIC’s thin film filters span 1–26 GHz with 1–60% bandwidth in an ultra-low profile (<0.05″) SMT package. Built on alumina and titanate substrates, they’re ideal for radar, EW, UAV, and navigation systems, with fully customizable designs for package, connectors, hermeticity, and application needs.

Switched Filter Banks

NIC’s switched filter banks cover 100 MHz to 20 GHz with bandwidths from 0.5% to 150%, integrating LC, cavity, ceramic, and printed filter technologies. Featuring custom PIN-diode or cost-effective GaAs switching, these low-profile (<0.19″) designs deliver improved VSWR, isolation, and reliability.
